New Permanent Representative of Georgia Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 11 June (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Georgia to the United Nations (Vienna), Konstantine Zaldastanishvili, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

During his career, Mr. Zaldastanishvili has served in various capacities, among them:

Secretary General of the EU-Georgia Business Council (2005-present); Ambassador to the Benelux Countries, Head of the Mission to the European Union (EU) (2000-2005); Head of the Mission to the European Union (1998-2000); Minister-Plenipotentiary of Georgia to Germany (1994-1995); Head of division of International Relations in the Tbilisi City Municipality (1993-1994).

Mr. Zaldastanishvili attended the Georgian Polytechnic Institute and holds a Doctoral Degree in Engineering from Dresden Technical University. He speaks Georgian, German, English and Russian.

He is married and has two children.
