New Permanent Representative of Jordan Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 24 October (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Jordan, Hussam Abdullah Ghodayeh Al Husseini, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

Mr. Al Husseini is also serving as Ambassador to Austria.

During his career, Mr. Al Husseini has served in various capacities, among them:

Director, European Affairs Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Jordan's Representative at the Co-Presidency of the Union for the Mediterranean (2011-2013); Deputy Chief of Mission and Charge d' Affairs, Embassy of Jordan to Belgium (2008-2011); Deputy Director, International Relations and Organizations Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2007-2008); Deputy Permanent Representative, Permanent Mission of Jordan to the United Nations Office at Geneva and other International Organizations (2003-2007); Assistant Director, Asian and African Affairs Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2001-2003); Charge d' Affairs, Embassy of Jordan to South Africa (1999-2001); Head of the Peace Process Coordination Bureau at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1999); Diplomatic officer, Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1998); Attaché and Second Secretary, Embassy of Jordan to Japan (1993-1998); Diplomatic officer, Department for the United Nations and International Organizations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1991-1993); Diplomatic Attaché, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1991).

Mr. Al Husseini holds a Bachelor's Degree in Public Administration from the Yarmouk University in Jordan. He speaks Arabic and English.

Mr. Al Husseini is married and has three children.
