VIENNA, 24 October (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Malaysia to the United Nations (Vienna), Dato' Selwyn Vijayarajan Das, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.
Mr. Das is also serving as Ambassador to Austria and Slovakia.
During his career Mr. Das has served in various capacities, among them:
Deputy Secretary General, Department of Multilateral Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2010 - 2013); High Commissioner of Malaysia to Canada (2009 -2 010); High Commissioner of Malaysia to Kenya (2005-2009); Minister Counsellor, Embassy of Malaysia to Thailand (2003 - 2005); Under Secretary, Secretariat of Non-Align Movement, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2002 - 2003); Principal Assistant Secretary, Economic and South-South Global Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2001 - 2002); Principal Assistant Secretary One at the Finance, Account, Budget and Development Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2000 - 2001); Ministry of Finance (1991 - 2000); Administrative and Diplomatic Service of Malaysia, Prime Minister's Office (1979 - 1991).
Mr. Das holds a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Malaya.
He is married and has two children.
