New Permanent Representative of Niger Presents Credentials

VIENNA, 19 December (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Niger, Ado Elhadji Abou, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

During his career, Mr. Elhadji Abou has served in various capacities, among them:

Minister-Counsellor, Embassy in Abuja (2012-2013); Minister-Counsellor, Embassy in Brussels (2011- 2012); Deputy Permanent Secretary, Office of the President of the Republic (2009-2011); Advisor on Diplomatic Affairs, Office of the President of the Republic (2005-2009); Director, Middle East and Arab Countries' Desk, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (2001-2005); Head, United Nations and International Organisations' Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (1999-2001); Development Institutions' Department, International Organisations Desk, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (1998-1999); First Secretary, Embassy of Niger in Abidjan (1992-1997); Southern Europe and Iberian Peninsula Department, Europe Desk, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (1987-1992).

Mr. Elhadji Abou holds a Master's Degree in Economics from the University of Lomé, Togo, and a degree from the Institute of International Relations in Yaoundé, Cameroon.

Mr. Elhadji Abou is married and has four children.
