VIENNA, 16 April (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Greece to the United Nations (Vienna), Chryssoula Aliferi, presented her credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.
Ms. Aliferi is also serving as Ambassador-designate to Austria.
During her career, Ms. Aliferi has served in various capacities in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, among them:
Director of A7 Directorate for North America (2008-2014); Director of C4 European Directorate for Justice, Home Affairs and Schengen (2007-2008); Deputy Director of C2 Directorate for European Integration, and Economic and Monetary Policy (2006-2007); Consul General in Johannesburg, South Africa (2003-2006); Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy in Austria and Permanent Mission to the UN in Vienna (1998-2003); Deputy Director at the ST1 Personnel Directorate and Head of Cabinet of the Secretary General for Administration and Organization (1994-1998); served at Embassies in Bulgaria (1991-1994) and in Syria (1987-1991); served in the Directorate for Middle East and Africa (1984-1987); Attaché at the Protocol Department (1983-1984).
Ms. Aliferi graduated from the School of Philosophy, Classical Studies from the University of Athens. She speaks English, French and German.
Ms. Aliferi is married and has two children.
