VIENNA, 5 June (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Kyrgyzstan to the United Nations (Vienna), Ermek S. Ibraimov, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.
Mr. Ibraimov is also serving as Ambassador to Austria.
During his career, Mr. Ibraimov has served in various capacities, among them:
Ambassador to Turkey (2011-2014); Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs (2007-2009); Deputy Chief of Staff and Head of the Foreign Policy Department, Office of the President of Kyrgyzstan (2005-2007); Assistant to the President of Kyrgyzstan and Head of the Protocol Service (2005); Director for Economic Research, Secretariat of the Economic Cooperation Organization, Iran (2001-2005); Deputy Head of the Foreign Policy Department and Head of the Protocol Service, Office of the President of Kyrgyzstan (1999-2001); Head of the Consular Agency in Germany (1998-1999); Counsellor, Embassy in Turkey (1996-1998); Second Secretary, Department for Economic Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1995-1996).
Mr. Ibraimov holds a degree in International Relations from the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation. He speaks English and Turkish.
Mr. Ibraimov is married and has two children.
