New Permanent Representative of Uruguay presents credentials

VIENNA, 16 July (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Uruguay to the United Nations (Vienna), Bruno Javier Faraone Machado, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

Mr. Faraone Machado is also serving as Ambassador-designate to Austria

During his career with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Faraone Machado has served in various capacities, among them:

Director for the Americas, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2012-2014); Consul-General in Brazil (2006-2011); Director-General of Political Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2005-2006); Consul in Panama (1998-2003); Consul in Colombia (1991-1996).

Mr. Faraone Machado holds a Master's Degree in International Law and a Ph.D. in Law and Social Sciences from the University of the Republic in Uruguay. He speaks Spanish, English, French and Portuguese.

Mr. Faraone Machado is married and has five children.
