New Permanent Representative of  Viet Nam presents credentials

VIENNA, 26 November (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Viet Nam to the United Nations (Vienna), Vu Viet Anh, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

During his career, Mr. Vu has served in various capacities at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, among them: Deputy Director General, Department of Europe (2009-2014); Counsellor, then Minister Counsellor-Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of Viet Nam in Austria (2006-2009); Deputy Director General, National Border Committee (2002-2006); Desk Officer, then Chief of the Office, Consular Department (1998-2002); Attaché, Embassy of Viet Nam in the United States (1998); Attaché, Embassy of Viet Nam in the Russian Federation (1995-1997); Desk Officer, Consular Department, (1993-1995); Officer, Vietnam Courier Newspaper, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1988-1992).

Mr. Vu holds a Master's degree in International Journalism from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations  and a PhD in Economics from the Research Institute of International Politics and Economics, Russian Federation Academy of Sciences.

He speaks English and Russian.

Mr. Vu is married and has three children.
