New Permanent Representative of Costa Rica presents credentials

VIENNA, 19 February (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Costa Rica to the United Nations (Vienna), Pilar Saborío de Rocafort, presented her credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

During her career, Ms. Saborío de Rocafort has served in various capacities, among them:

Permanent Representative of Costa Rica to the International Maritime Organization (from 2013); Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Costa Rica to Ireland (non-resident) (from 2012); Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Costa Rica to Iceland (non-resident) (from 2008); Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Costa Rica to the United Kingdom (from 2007); Adjunct Professor at the Florida International University (2004-2005) and at the University of Miami (2003); Independent Interpreter and Translator (1992-1994); Assistant Director for Industrial Development at the Costa Rica Investment and Development Program (CINDE) (1990-1992); Programme Coordinator and training programme leader at the Instituto Centroamericano de Administración de Empresas (INCAE) (1986-1988); Certified translator at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1985-1990); Staff Interpreter and Translator at the Instituto Centroamericano de Administración de Empresas (INCAE) (1984-1985).

Ms. Saborío de Rocafort holds a Bachelor's degree from the University of Miami and a Master's degree from the University of Cambridge.
