VIENNA, 17 March (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Uganda to the United Nations (Vienna), Marcel R. Tibaleka, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.
Mr. Tibaleka also serves as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uganda to Germany, to the Holy See, to Austria, to Bulgaria, to the Czech Republic, to Hungary, to Poland and to Slovakia.
During his career, Mr. Tibaleka has served in various capacities with the Uganda Police Force, which he joined in 1970, among them:
Force Transport Officer (1996-2007); Head of Operations, Special Branch (1988-1996); Head of Foreign Liaison, Special Branch (1983-1988); Consular Attaché, Uganda High Commission in Nairobi, Kenya (1981-1983); District Special Branch Officer in Masaka and Arua, Uganda (1976-1977).
He also worked at the Uganda Liaison Office in Nairobi, Kenya (1979); at the Travel Control Office at the Entebbe International Airport, Uganda (1974-1975); at the Central Police Station in Kampala, Uganda (1973); and at the Nsambya Barracks, Uganda (1971-1972).
Mr. Tibaleka holds a certificate from the University of Clermont, France and a certificate and a diploma from the Institute of Public Administration, Uganda.
He speaks Runyoro, English, French, German and Swahili.
Mr. Tibaleka is married and has seven children.
