New Chargé d'Affaires of the United States of America pays courtesy call

VIENNA, 3 August (UN Information Service) - The new Chargé d'Affaires of the United States of America to the United Nations (Vienna), Henry S. Ensher, paid a courtesy call today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

During his career, Mr. Ensher has served in various capacities as a Foreign Service Officer, among them:

Ambassador of the United States to Algeria (2011-2014); Senior Civilian Representative-South at Kandahar Air Field, Afghanistan (2010-2011); Director of the Office of Afghanistan Affairs (2008-2010); Political Advisor at Central Command (2007-2008); Chair of Near East and North Africa Area Studies at the Foreign Service Institute in Washington, D.C. and Coordinator for Iraq and Afghanistan Provincial Reconstruction Team training (2006-2007); Deputy Political Counselor in Baghdad, Iraq (2004-2005); Governance Coordinator in Qadisiyah Province, Iraq (2003-2004).

Mr. Ensher holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.

He speaks English, Arabic and Hebrew.

Mr. Ensher is married and has two children.
