VIENNA, 5 August (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to the United Nations (Vienna), San Lwin, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.
Mr. Lwin is currently serving Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to Austria.
During his career, Mr. Lwin has served in various capacities, among them:
Director General at the Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (from 2013 onwards); Deputy Director General at the Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2011-2013); Director at International Organizations Division of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2011); Minister Counsellor and Deputy Permanent Representative at Permanent Mission of Myanmar to the United Nations in New York, United States (2008-2011); Deputy Director and Director in Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2005-2008); First Secretary and Counsellor at the Embassy of Myanmar in Singapore (2000-2005); Assistant Director in Political Department and Training, Research and Foreign Language Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1997-2000); Consul at Myanmar Consulate-General in Kunming, People's Republic of China (1993-1997); Head of Branch in Political Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1991-1993); Third Secretary at Myanmar Embassy in Beijing, China (1987-1991); Desk Officer in Planning and Administrative Department, International Organizations and Economic Department and Protocol Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1984-1987).
Mr. Lwin is married and has two children.
