VIENNA, 21 September (UN Information Service) - The Head of the Delegation of the European Union to the United Nations (Vienna), Didier Lenoir, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.
During his career, Mr. Lenoir has served in various capacities, among them:
At the European Union (EU) External Action Service: Special Adviser of the Managing Director for Europe and Central Asia (2014-2015); Acting Director of the Crisis Management and Planning Directorate (CMPD) (2013-2014); Head of Division for Integrated Strategic Planning (2011-2013); Acting Director of the Crisis Management and Planning Directorate (CMPD) (2011); Head of the Planning and Crisis Management Unit (2009-2010); Head of the Planning and Exercise Unit at the Council of the European Union (2007-2009); Chief Administrator of 'Military Operations Planning' at the Council of the European Union (2003-2006); Chief Administrator of "Development of EU Military Capacities" at the Council of the European Union (2001-2003); Financial Advisor to the French Delegation of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in Brussels (1998-2001); Expert in charge of 'Multinational Logistics' and 'Right to outside intervention' at the French Ministry of Defence (1997-1998); Responsible for Civil-Military Planning at the Ministry of Defence in Paris (1994-1996).
Mr. Lenoir holds a Bachelor's degree in History from the Institut d'études politique de Paris in 1984.
Mr. Lenoir is married and has seven children.
