New Permanent Representative of Peru presents credentials

VIENNA, 07 December (UN Information Service) - The Permanent Representative of Peru to the United Nations (Vienna), Alfredo Raúl Chuquihuara Chil, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

During his career, Mr. Chuquihuara Chil has served in various capacities, among them:

Director of Tourism Promotion of the Peruvian Ministry Foreign Affairs (2013-2015); Deputy Permanent Representative of Peru to the United Nations, New York (2011-2012); Ascribed General Consul of Peru in Connecticut and Rhode Island (2006-2010); Chief of Cabinet of the Peruvian Minister of Foreign Affairs (2004-2006); President of the Commission on Population and Development of the United Nations, New York (2003-2004); Consultant of the United Nations Fund for Population Activities - UNFPA, New York (2003-2004); Minister Counselor and Counselor at the Permanent Mission of Peru to the United Nations (1997-2003); First Secretary and Head of Planning at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Peru (1994-1997); Second Secretary and Officer of the Political Department of the Embassy of Peru in Washington DC (1988-1992); Third Secretary and Officer of the Under-secretariat for America at the Political Department of Chile and Bolivia (1985-1988); .

Mr. Chuquihuara Chil holds a Master's degree in Public Administration from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
