New Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka presents credentials

VIENNA, 29 March (UN Information Service) - The Permanent Representative of Sri Lanka to the United Nations (Vienna), Ms. Priyanee Wijesekera, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, presented her credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

During her career, Ms. Priyanee Wijesekera has served in various capacities, among them:

Secretary-General of Parliament (2002-2008); Deputy Secretary-General of Parliament (1994-2002); Assistant Secretary-General of Parliament (1992-1994); Research Officer, Parliament of Sri Lanka (1992); Secretary, Law Commission (1985-1992); Assistant Secretary, Law Commission (1984-1985); Legal Officer, Bribery Commissioner's Department (1974-1984); Research Assistant, Ministry of Justice (1972-1974).

Ms. Priyanee Wijesekera holds a Master's Degree in Public International Law (LLM).

She is widowed with two children.
