New Permanent Observer of the International Organization for Migration presents credentials

VIENNA, 4 July (UN Information Service) - The Permanent Observer of the International Organization for Migration to the United Nations (Vienna), Ms. Argentina Carmen Szabados, presented her credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

During her career Ms. Szabados has served in various capacities, among them:

Regional Director for Eastern and South Eastern Europe and Central Asia, International Organization for Migration (IOM) Vienna, Austria (since 2016); Chief of Mission IOM Berlin, Germany (2011-2016); Regional Representative for Central and South Eastern Europe, Budapest, Hungary (2004-2010); Head of office/ Chief of Mission for Hungary (1999-2004); Head of Natural Disaster Programme at the World Council of Churches/HIA (1997-1998); Head of Emergency Desk for Central and Eastern Europe at the World Council of Churches/HIA (1991-1997); Relief Programme Coordinator at the World Council of Churches/HIA (1990-1991); Social Worker at the Hungarian Reformed Church (1989-1990).

Ms. Szabados holds a Diploma in Teaching from the High Studies Institute of Oradea and an International Diploma in Humanitarian Assistance from the City University of New York.

Ms. Szabados speaks Hungarian, Romanian, English, French, German and Italian.
