2016 Edition of the Digest of International Sale of Goods Contract Law (CISG Digest) published

VIENNA, 5 December (UN Information Service) - The 2016 edition of the Digest on the United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods (CISG) has been published by the United Nations Commission on International Trade Law (UNCITRAL). As for past editions, this new Digest is now available for free on the UNCITRAL website at http://www.uncitral.org/uncitral/en/case_law/digests.html

The Digest, a compilation of world-wide court and arbitral decisions, identifies trends in the interpretation of the Convention and is based on the case law collected through the CLOUT system (Case Law on UNCITRAL Texts). The first CISG Digest was issued in December 2004; updated editions were released in 2008 and 2012.

The newly released 2016 edition of the Digest is available only in English now but will soon be translated into the other official UN languages.

The Digest is the result of cooperation among  the UNCITRAL Secretariat, CLOUT national correspondents and international experts. This revision has greatly benefitted from the contribution of Professor Harry Flechtner of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law; Professor Alexander Sergeyevitch Komarov, Russian Academy of Foreign Trade; Professor Qiao LIU, TC Beirne School of Law, The University of Queensland and School of Law, Xi'an Jiaotong University; Professor Ulrich Magnus of the University of Hamburg, Faculty of Law; Andrew Vogeler; Professor Claude Witz of Saarland University and the University of Strasbourg, Faculties of Law.
