VIENNA, 17 November (United Nations Industrial Development Organization) - The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) will celebrate its 50 th anniversary from 21 to 25 November 2016 in the Vienna International Centre, under the theme 'Together for a Sustainable Future'.
More than 600 participants, including many high-level representatives from the public and private sector, academia and civil society are expected to join in the activities. After the opening session on Monday morning, numerous events will take place throughout the week to highlight UNIDO's contribution to Partnership, Peace, People, Planet and Prosperity. These events will address topics that are at the core of the development agenda, including financing for development, climate change, migration and resilience, and the future of industry.
A news conference featuring Director General LI Yong will be held on Monday 21 November 2016 from 14:45 to 15:15 in the M Building, Conference Room M7.
