Seven substances "scheduled" at the 59th Session of the Commission on Narcotic Drugs

VIENNA 18 March (UN Information Service) - Today, at its 59th Session, the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND) added seven substances to the relevant schedules of the Single Convention on Narcotic Drugs of 1961 as amended by the 1972 Protocol and the Convention on Psychotropic Substances of 1971.

The substances scheduled are:
·     MT-45
·     Acetylfentanyl
·     alpha-Pyrrolidinovalerophenone (alpha-PVP)
·     para-Methyl-4-methylaminorex (4,4'-DMAR)
·     para-Methoxymethylamphetamine (PMMA)
·     Methoxetamine (MXE)
·     Phenazepam

In making these changes in the scope of the control of substances, the CND followed the recommendations by the World Health Organization's Expert Committee on Drug Dependence.
