VIENNA, 24 April (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Thailand to the United Nations (Vienna), Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Songsak Saicheua, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.
During his career Mr. Saicheua has served in various capacities, among them:
Director-General, Department of American and South Pacific Affairs (from 2013); Minister, Embassy, Kuala Lumpur (from 2011); Deputy Director-General, Department of American and South Pacific Affairs (from 2010); Minister Counsellor, Office of the Minister; and Bureau Chief, Office of Policy and Planning, Office of the Permanent Secretary (from 2009); Minister Counsellor, Embassy, Washington D.C. (from 2004); Director, Division 2, Department of Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Affairs (from 2003); Counsellor, Division 1, Department of European Affairs (from 2000); First Secretary, Division 1, Department of European Affairs (from 1998); First Secretary, Embassy, Brussels (from 1994); Second Secretary, Embassy, Brussels (from 1993); Second Secretary, Commerce and Industry Division, Department of ASEAN Affairs (from 1991); Third Secretary, Department of ASEAN Affairs (from 1990); Attaché, Economic Information Division, Department of Economic Affairs (from 1987).
Mr. Saicheua holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Thammasat University and a Masters in Industrial Location and Development from Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium.
Mr. Saicheua is married.
