New Permanent Representative of Mongolia presents credentials

VIENNA, 10 May (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Mongolia to the United Nations (Vienna), Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Battungalag Gankhuurai, presented her credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

During her career Ms. Gankhuurai, who is also Ambassador to Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Montenegro, Slovenia and Permanent Representative to the other International Organizations in Vienna, has served in various capacities, among them:

Director-General, Department of Multilateral Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mongolia (2015-2016); Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, New York (2012-2015); Deputy Director-General, Department of International Organizations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2010-2012); Second, First Secretary, Counsellor, Department of Multilateral Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2005-2010); Third Secretary, Permanent Mission of Mongolia to the United Nations, New York (2002-2005); Attaché, Third Secretary, Department of International Organizations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1997-2002); Attaché, Consular Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1997); Attaché, Protocol Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1996-1997).

Ms. Gankhuurai has studied at Moscow University of International Relations, Russian Federation, Victoria University, Wellington, New Zealand and the John F. Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, United States.

Ms. Gankhuurai speaks English, Russian and French.
