New Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bhutanpresents credentials

VIENNA, 5 July (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bhutan to the United Nations (Vienna), Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Kinga Singye, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

During his career Mr. Singye has served in various capacities, among them:

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Switzerland, Austria and Norway (since 2016); Permanent Representative to UNIDO, FAO and IFAD (since 2016) as well as UNESCO (since 2017); Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the United Nations Office in Geneva (since 2016); Director-General of the Department of Bilateral Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2014-2016); Director of the Department of Bilateral Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2012-2014); Director of the Department of Multilateral Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2012); Deputy Chief of Mission at the Royal Bhutanese Embassy in New Delhi, India (2009-2012); Minister Counsellor at the Royal Bhutanese Embassy in New Delhi, India (2008-2009); Counsellor, Minister Counsellor and Deputy Permanent Representative, Permanent Mission of Bhutan to the UN in New York (2004-2007); Deputy Director of the Policy and Planning Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2003-2004); Executive Director, Bhutan Broadcasting Service Corporation (2000-2003); First Secretary, Permanent Mission of Bhutan to the UN in Geneva (1996-1999); Assistant Director, Policy and Planning Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1991-1996); Third Secretary, Royal Bhutanese Embassy in Kuwait (1986-1990); Attaché at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1985-1986).

He holds a Bachelor of Arts from SGGS College, Panjab University Chandigarh, India, as well as an MA in International relations from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy, Tufts University - Boston, United States.

Mr. Singye is married and has two children.
