VIENNA, 6 September (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Canada to the United Nations (Vienna), Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Heidi Hulan, presented her credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.
During her career, Ms. Hulan has served in various capacities, among them:
Policy Advisor to the Foreign Minister; Deputy Director of the International Commission on Intervention and State Sovereignty; Director of the Peacebuilding and Human Security Division; Director of the Non-Proliferation and Disarmament Division; Director General of Non-Proliferation and Security Threat Reduction; Director General, International Security Policy; Minister Counsellor and Head of Political Section, Permanent Mission to the UN in New York; Deputy Permanent Representative to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) (2010-2013).
Ms. Hulan holds B.A. in Philosophy and Political Science from McGill University, Montreal, Canada.
She speaks English and French.
Ms. Hulan is married and has one child.
