VIENNA, 9 March (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Malaysia to the United Nations (Vienna), Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Dato' Ganeson Sivagurunathan, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.
During his career, Mr. Sivagurunathan has served in various capacities, among them:
Undersecretary (East Asia Division), Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia (2015-18); Undersecretary (African Division), Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia (2015); Ambassador of Malaysia, Chile (2011-2015); Undersecretary (Department of Multilateral Affairs), Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia (2008-2011); Counsellor, Permanent Mission of Malaysia to the UN, New York (2004-2008); Principal Assistant Secretary (Environment), Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia (2002-2004); Assistant Secretary (Environment), ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia (2000-2002).
Mr. Sivagurunathan also served as Second Secretary of the High Commission of Malaysia, Port Moresby (1996-2000); Assistant Secretary (South Asia), Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia (1995-1996); Administrative and Diplomatic Officer Grade M3 and Assistant Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Malaysia (1994-1995).
Additionally, Mr. Sivagurunathan has been awarded with the Darjah Indera Mahkota Pahang (DIMP) in 2015 and the Ahli Ahmad Shah Pahang (AAP) in 2009.
