New Permanent Representative of Angola presents credentials

VIENNA, 12 June (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Angolato the United Nations (Vienna), Teodolinda Rosa Rodrigues Coelho, presented her credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

Ms. Teodolinda Rosa Rodrigues Coelho started her career as a civil servant in the National Export Department in the Ministry of Foreign Trade (1977-1980) and the Planning Office of the Ministry of Provincial Coordination (1980-1989). She then served as Diplomatic Attaché in the Legal and Consular Affairs Directorate in the Ministry of External Relations (1989-1993).

She served as Second Secretary at the Embassy in Brazil (1993); Second Secretary at the Embassy in Botswana (1994-2000); Head of the Southern African Development Community (SADC) Department, Regional Integration Directorate, Ministry of External Affairs (2000-2003).

Thereafter, she served as Minister Counsellor and Head of Chancellery at the Permanent Mission to the United Nations, New York (2003-2010), responsible for the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP), SADC and the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM).

She then served as Director for Europe at the Ministry of External Relations (2010); and America Director, Ministry of External Relations (2016-2018).

Ms. Teodolinda Rosa Rodrigues Coelho holds a Degree in Law from Agostinho Neto University, Luanda (1989) and graduated from the United Nations Institute for Training and Research in Diplomatic Practice and Negotiation, New York (2004).

She speaks Portuguese and English.
