VIENNA, 6 September (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations (Vienna),Wang Qun, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.
During his career, Mr. Wang has served in various capacities, among them:
Director General, Department of Arms Control and Disarmament, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2014-2018); Ambassador, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2011-2014); Ambassador for Disarmament Affairs and Deputy Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations Office at Geneva and Other International Organizations in Switzerland (2007-2011); Deputy Director General, Department of Arms Control and Disarmament, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2004-2007); Counselor, Permanent Mission of China to the United Nations Office at Vienna and Other International Organizations in Vienna (2001-2004); Second Secretary, Deputy Division Director and Division Director, Department of Arms Control and Disarmament, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1998-2001); Third and Second Secretary, Permanent Mission of China to the United Nations (1995-1998); Third Secretary, Department of International Organizations and Conferences, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1993-1995); Third Secretary, Sino-British Joint Liaison Group (1990-1993); Attaché, Department of Translation and Interpretation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1985-1990).
Mr. Wang holds a university degree.
He is married and has one son.
