VIENNA, 6 September (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Denmark to the United Nations (Vienna), René Rosager Dinesen, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.
During his career, Mr. Dinesen has served in various capacities, among them:
Under-Secretary of State and Ambassador, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2016-2018); CEO/Executive Director, KR Foundation, Copenhagen (2015-2016); Ambassador to South Africa, Pretoria (2012-2015); Ambassador to Afghanistan, Kabul (2011-2012); Director, Department for Stabilization, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2010-2011); Director, Strategy and Policy Planning, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2009-2010); Deputy Permanent Representative/Counsellor, Permanent Mission of Denmark to the United Nations, New York (2007-2009); Private Secretary to the Foreign Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2005-2007); Private Secretary to the Permanent Secretary of State, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2004-2005); Head of Section, Foreign Policy Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2003-2004); Deputy Head of Mission, Royal Danish Embassy, Bucharest (1999-2003); Head of Section, Trade Policy and International Environmental Issues, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1997-1999).
Mr. Dinesen holds a Bachelor's and a Master's Degree in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Copenhagen.
He is married and has two children.
