New Permanent Representative of Jordan presents credentials

VIENNA, 11 September (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Jordanto the United Nations (Vienna), Leena Al-Hadid, presented her credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

During her career, Ms. Al-Hadid, who is also Ambassador to Austria, has served in various capacities, among them:

Director of the International Relations and Organizations Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates (2014-2018); Deputy Consul General, General Consulate of Jordan, Dubai (2009-2014); Deputy Director of the Human Rights and Humanitarian Security Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates (2006-2009); Chief Diplomatic Human Rights Officer, Permanent Mission of Jordan to the United Nations and Other International Organizations, Geneva (2004-2006); Political Officer, Mission of Jordan to the European Union, Brussels (2002-2004); Political Officer, Department of Human Rights and Humanitarian Security, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2001-2002); Political Officer for Media Affairs at the Private Office of the Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2000-2001); Diplomatic attaché and Alternate Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Vienna (1996-2000); Political Officer at the Private Office of the Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1995-1996); Research Assistant at UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), Amman (1993-1995).

Ms. Al-Hadid holds a Bachelor's degree in General Law from the University of Jordan.

She speaks Arabic and English.
