New Permanent Representative of Estonia presents credentials

VIENNA, 11 September (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Estoniato the United Nations (Vienna), Toomas Kukk, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

During his career, Mr. Kukk, who is also Ambassador to Austria, has served in various capacities, among them:

Head of Division, Northern and Central Europe and Regional Cooperation, Department for European Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2016-2018); Ambassador to Bulgaria (2011-2017); Ambassador to Lithuania (2012-2016); Foreign Policy Adviser to the Prime Minister of Estonia (2009-2011); Director, European Union Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2008-2009); Deputy Permanent Representative, Delegation of Estonia to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Brussels (2003-2008); Second Secretary, First Political Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2002); Second Secretary, External Economic Policy Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2001-2002); Third Secretary, Embassy in Poland, Warsaw (1998-2001); Third Secretary, External Economic Policy Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1996-1998); Attaché, Protocol Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1995-1996).

Mr. Kukk graduated from Tallinn Technical University, Department of Information Technology (1994) and from the Estonian School of Diplomacy (1995).

Mr. Kukk speaks English, Russian and Polish.

He is married and has three children.
