VIENNA, 20 September (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Omanto the United Nations (Vienna), Yousuf Ahmed Hamed Aljabri, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.
During his career, Mr. Aljabri, who is also Ambassador to Austria, has served in various capacities, among them:
Chief of the Office of Political Affairs at the Minister's Department; Deputy Chief of the Office of Political Affairs at the Minister's Department; Deputy Chief of the Office of Political Analysis at the Minister's Department; Counsellor, West European Department; Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy in London; Officer responsible for Asian Affairs at the Minister's Department; Deputy Chief of Mission at the Embassy in Vienna; and Second Secretary at the European Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Mr. Aljabri holds a Master of Arts degree in Strategic Studies on National Security and Defence from Sultan Qaboos University, Oman.
He is married and speaks Arabic and English.
