New Permanent Representative of Sweden presents credentials

VIENNA, 2 October (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Sweden to the United Nations (Vienna), Mikaela Kumlin Granit, presented her credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

During her career, Ms. Kumlin Granit has served in various capacities, among them:

Deputy Director General and Head of Department for European Affairs, Ministry for Foreign Affairs (2012); Foreign Policy Adviser, Cabinet of the President of the European Council (2010-2012); Director and Foreign Policy Adviser, Office of the Prime Minister (2007-2010); Head of Unit, Department for European Affairs, Ministry for Foreign Affairs (2005-2007); European Correspondent and Head of Unit, Ministry for Foreign Affairs (2005); Deputy Director for US-Affairs, Ministry for Foreign Affairs (2004); First Secretary, Embassy in Washington, United States (1999-2004); and Second Secretary, Embassy in Harare, Zimbabwe (1997-1999).

Ms. Kumlin Granit joined the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1994. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics from Stockholm University.

She speaks Swedish, English, French and German.

Ms. Kumlin Granit is married and has three children.
