New Permanent Representative of Austria presents credentials

VIENNA, 18 December (UN Information Service) - Following the presentation of the credentials on 5 December 2018, the new Permanent Representative of Austria to the United Nations (Vienna), Gabriela Sellner, today met the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

During her career, Ms. Sellner has served in various capacities in the Ministry for Europe, Integration and International Affairs, among them:

Deputy Chief of Protocol (2016-2018); Head of Unit conferences and visits (2014-2016); Deputy Head of Mission and chargé ad interim, Permanent Mission to the United Nations (Vienna) (2007-2008); Chair of the European Union (EU) Council Working Group on South East Europe during the Austrian EU Presidency, Permanent Mission to the EU (2005 - 2006); Press attaché and EU expert, in Budapest, Hungary (2002 - 2005); Human rights expert, Permanent Mission to the United Nations (Geneva) (1999 - 2002); Expert in the department for multilateral trade issues and third country relations, Head of the Austrian delegation to the EU Council Working Group EFTA, including during the first Austrian EU Presidency (1997 - 1999); and Expert in the Office of the Legal Adviser, human rights, gender issues (1995).

In addition, Ms. Sellner has also served as an expert on EU affairs at the Finance Ministry, participating in the negotiations on the accession of Austria to the European Union.

Ms. Sellner holds a doctorate degree in economics from the Vienna University of Economics and Business and a degree in business administration from the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland.
