VIENNA, 3 May (UN Information Service) - Representatives of the media are invited to the celebration of Chinese Language Day at the United Nations in Vienna organized bythe VIC Chinese Culture Association and the Culture Association in Austria and supported by the United Nations Information Service (UNIS) Vienna.
The event will start at 12.30 p.m. on Monday 7 th May in the Rotunda of the Vienna International Centre.
Speakers include: Ambassador Shi Zhongjun from the Permanent mission of China, Li Yong, Director General, United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Martin Nesirky, Director, United Nations Information Service (UNIS) Vienna and Teng Junjie, Director of the Shanghai Media Group.
There will be exhibition in the rotunda on the theme: "New Era · New Shanghai: Witnessing the 40 years of reform and opening up in China". Exhibitors include:Information Office of Shanghai Municipal People's Government, Shanghai Dragon TV, Shanghai Art Film Federation, Shanghai Qipao Culture Promotion Association and the Confucius Institute at the University of Vienna
There will be short performances of Peking Opera, other singers and musicians, a Shanghai Qipao Fashion Show, a martial arts performance as well as a calligraphy presentation.
