New Permanent Representative of Colombia presents credentials

VIENNA, 5 September (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Colombiato the United Nations (Vienna), Miguel Camilo Ruiz Blanco, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

During his career, Mr. Blanco has served in various capacities, among them:

Director for Multilateral Political Affairs (2017-2018); Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs (2017); Ambassador, Deputy Permanent Representative of Colombia to the United Nations (2011-2017); Acting Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs (2010-2011); Director of America, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2009-2011); Secretary Pro Tempore of the Association of Caribbean States (2009); Ambassador to Honduras (2005-2009); Director for Multilateral Political Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2002-2005); Disarmament Coordinator of the Direction for Multilateral Political Affairs (2002); Minister Counsellor, Permanent Mission of Colombia to the United Nations and other International Organizations, Geneva (2000-2002); Counsellor, Permanent Mission, Geneva (1997-2000); Advisor to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs (1994-1997); Consul in Cuenca, Ecuador (1991-1994); Advisor to the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1990-1991); Second Secretary, Direction of Protocol (1989-1990); Second Secretary, Human Resources Division (1988-1989).

Mr. Blanco graduated from the Academy of Public Administration, ESAP, and is a Specialist in Public Finances.

He is married and has two children.
