VIENNA, 12 April (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Greeceto the United Nations (Vienna), Catherine Koika, presented her credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.
During her career, Catherine Koika, who is also Ambassador to Austria, has served in various capacities, among them:
Director, Diplomatic Cabinet of the President of the Hellenic Republic (2015-2019); Director General, General Secretariat for Greeks Abroad (2014-2015); Head of the Office of the Secretary General for International Economic Relations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2013-2014); Consul General in Paris (2008-2011); Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy in Budapest (1996-2001); Secretary of Embassy in Rome (1991-1996) and in the Diplomatic Cabinet of the Deputy Minister for European Affairs (1989-1990).
She studied at the Faculty of Law, University of Athens and at the Institute of Advanced European Studies at the University of Strasbourg.
Ms. Koika speaks English, French, Italian and German. She is married and has two children.
