New Permanent Representative of Iraq presents Credentials

VIENNA, 24 April (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Iraq to the United Nations (Vienna), Baker Fattah Hussen, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.

During his career, Mr. Hussen, who is also the Ambassador to Austria, has served in various capacities, among them:

Ambassador, Head of the Department of Europe, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2017-2018); Ambassador to Sweden (2013-2017); Ambassador to Brazil (2010-2013); Ambassador, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2009-2010); Member of Parliament, Kurdistan Region Iraq (2005-2009);

Mr. Hussen has a Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) in Chemistry from Sulaimaniya University in Iraq and a vocational diploma in Advanced Information Technology from Tehran. He also has a diploma in Spanish language and culture, and a diploma in international relations and diplomatic issues.

Mr Hussen speaks Arabic, English, Farsi, Italian, Kurdish, Portuguese and Spanish.

He is married and has two children.
