VIENNA, 13 May (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Paraguayto the United Nations (Vienna), Juan Francisco Facetti, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.
During his career, Mr. Facetti has served in various capacities, among them:
Designated Vice President, International Atomic Energy Agency's (IAEA) Nuclear Security Guidance Committee (NSGC) (2018-2020);
Principal Advisor and Counselor of the Minister of Foreign Affairs (2018-2019); Advisor, Nuclear security, science and technology (2015-2018); Advisor, National Congress (2014-2017 and 1997-2000); Advisor to Minister of Foreign Affairs (2013-2015); Director General for Science and Technology, National Defense Council (2012-2013); Advisor to the Ministers of Environment or Sustainable Development of Ecuador, Bolivia, Uruguay and El-Salvador (2006-2010); Advisor to the IAEA Director General (2007-2009); Advisor to the Vice President (2003-2007); Chief, Organization of American States' Governance Programme in Haiti (2002-2003); President, National Institute of Technology and Standards (INTN) (1996-1997).
Mr. Facetti has published more than 60 scientific articles in international journals and speaks English, French, Portuguese and Spanish.
Mr. Facetti is married.
