VIENNA, 26 June (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Bolivia to the United Nations (Vienna), Elizabeth Suxo Iturry, presented her credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.
During her career, Ms. Iturry has served in various capacities, among them:
President Speaker of the intergovernmental working group of open composition for the project of United Nations declaration on farmers and rural people rights, United Nations, Geneva (2015-2018); Ambassador to the United Nations and other International Organizations, Geneva (2015-2018); Minister in charge of the Ministry of Transparency and Fight Against Corruption, La Paz (2009-2015); Vice Minister in charge of Transparency and Fight Against Corruption, La Paz (2006-2009); Representative of the Carter Center in Bolivia, La Paz (2003-2006); Director of the Democratic Capacitation Institute, National Electoral Court, United Nations Development Program, La Paz (2003-2006); Deputy Director in charge of Human Rights, Ombudsman Office, La Paz (1999-2003); Director of the Legal Investigation Department, Bolivian Catholic University, La Paz (1995-1999); Executive Director, Capacitation and Civil Rights (NGO), La Paz (1993-1999); Director of the Law Faculty, Bolivian Catholic University, La Paz (1992-1995); Director and General Legal Counsel, Defense for Children International, La Paz (1989-1992); Independent Legal Consultant, La Paz (1988-1989); Legal Consultant, Women Information and Development Centre, La Paz (1986-1987).
Ms. Iturry holds a Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B.) from Mayor de San Andres Public University and a postgraduate degree in Postgraduate Education from Mayor de San Andres Public University. She also holds a postgraduate degree in Human Rights from the Carlos Tercero de Madrid University.
She is married and has two children.
