VIENNA, 10 September (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Uruguay to the United Nations (Vienna), Juan Carlos Ojeda Viglione, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.
During his career, Mr. Ojeda Viglione has served in various capacities, among them:
Director of Multilateral Affairs Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2017-2019); Concurrent Ambassador to the Republic of Armenia (2014-2016); Concurrent Ambassador to Pakistan (2012-2016); Ambassador to Iran (2011-2016); Director of Multilateral Affairs Division (2009-2011); Head of the Secretariat of the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs (2009); Head of the Secretariat of the General Director, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2008-2009); Head of the Secretariat of the General Division for Technical and Administrative Affairs (2001-2003); Head of the Secretariat of the General Director, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2000-2001); Deputy Director of the Treaties Division (1992-1993); Head of the Division of International Organizations (1991-1992); Cabinet of the Minister of Foreign Affairs (1985); Head of the Diplomatic Secretariat of the General Division for Political Affairs (1984); and has served in the embassies in Israel (2003-2008); Dominican Republic (1997-2000); Japan (1994-1997) and Egypt (1985-1991).
Mr. Ojeda Viglione holds a degree in Diplomacy from the University of the Republic, Uruguay.
Mr. Ojeda Viglione speaks English and French.
