VIENNA, 3 December (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Rwanda to the United Nations (Vienna), Marie Chantal Rwakazina, presented her credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.
During her career, Ms. Rwakazina has served in various capacities, among them:
Mayor of the City of Kigali (2018-2019); United Nations Coordination Analyst, UN Development Programme (UNDP)/One UN (2013-2018); Deputy Secretary General, Rwandan Association of Local Government Authorities (RALGA) (2011-2013); Capacity Building Expert, RALGA (2008-2011); Head of Department of Applied Statistics, National University of Rwanda (2005-2008); Assistant Lecturer, Faculty of Economics, National University of Rwanda (2000-2005); Visiting Assistant Lecturer, Faculty of Development Studies, Université Catholique de Kabgayi Muhanga (2003-2004).
Ms. Rwakazina holds a Master's degree in Development Studies from the Fondation Universitaire Luxembourgeoise, Arlon, Belgium and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the National University of Rwanda.
Ms. Rwakazina is married and speaks English, French, and Kinyarwanda.
