VIENNA, 3 December (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Libya to the United Nations (Vienna), Jalal Alashi, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Yury Fedotov.
During his career, Mr. Alashi, who is also Ambassador to Austria, has served in various capacities, among them:
Chargé d'Affairs, Embassy in Vienna (2018-2019); Director of European Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2015-2018); Head of the Office of the Deputy Foreign Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2013-2014); Cabinet of the Foreign Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2012-2013); Diplomat, Embassy in Brussels, Head of the Consulate Section, Embassy in Brussels (2007-2012); Cabinet of the Foreign Minister, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2003-2007); Cabinet of the Libyan Foreign Minister, African Unity, Tripoli (2000-2003).
Mr. Alashi holds a Bachelor's degree in French Language and one in Business Administration and a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Administration.
Mr. Alashi is married and has four children.
