UNODC to launch Global Report on Trafficking in Persons in Vienna on Monday, 7 January 2019

Media invited to attend the Member States briefing on 7 January 2019 at 10.00 a.m. at the Vienna International Centre (VIC), Conference Room C3, C-Building, 7 th floor, followed by a press briefing in Room C0727, C-Building, 7 th floor

Vienna, 3 January 2019 - The Executive Director of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Yury Fedotov and Chief of Research and Trend Analysis Branch, Angela Me will brief the Permanent Missions on the main findings of the Global Report on Trafficking in Persons 2018 on Monday, 7 January 2019 at 10.00 a.m. at the Vienna International Centre (VIC) in Conference Room C3. The event will include an address by the Austrian Minister for Europe, Integration and Foreign Affairs, Karin Kneissl.

The Global Report on Trafficking in Persons 2018 will be launched during a Special Event of the Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice (CCPCJ), chaired by Ambassador Alena Kuchyna, Chair of the 28 th session of the CCPCJ.

Media representatives are invited to attend the Special Event.

The Special Event of the CCPCJ is followed by a press briefing with Chief of Research and Trend Analysis Branch, Angela Me, in Room C0727.

The Global Report on Trafficking in Persons 2018 gives an overview of the scope of human trafficking and its effects on the lives of the victims of this heinous crime with a special focus on trafficking in persons in the context of armed conflict.
