Permanent Representative of Andorra presents credentials

VIENNA, 21 February (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Andorra to the United Nations (Vienna), Jaume Serra Serra, presented his credentials today to the Deputy Director-General for the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Dennis Thatchaichawalit.

During his career, Jaume Serra Serra, who is also Ambassador to Austria, Germany and Portugal, and Permanent Representative to the Preparatory Commission for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), has served in various capacities, among them:

Andorran Representative at the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (2018 - present); Ambassador to the Holy See (2011-2019); Ambassador to Portugal (2015); Deputy of Parliament, Andorra (2005-2011); Professor and Coordinator of the "Strategic Plan for Andorra Economy", University of Andorra (2004-2005); Professor in Public Finances, Macro and Micro Economics, and Business Administration at the Universitat Nacional a Distancia (1987-1997); Minister of Economy of Andorra (1994); and Coordinator of the ''Strategic plan'' for the Andorran government (1993-1994).

Mr. Serra Serra holds a Master's degree in Political Science, a Master's degree in Business Administration both from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) and a degree in Economics from the Universitat de Barcelona.

Mr. Serra Serra speaks Catalan, English, French and Spanish.

He is married and has three children.
