VIENNA, 18 June (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to the United Nations (Vienna), Kang Il Choe, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Ghada Waly.
During his career, Mr. Choe has served in various capacities, among them:
Deputy Director-General, Department of North American Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2015-2019); Counsellor, Permanent Mission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea to the United Nations, Vienna (2011-2015); Director, Department of American Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2004-2011); Senior Researcher, later Director, Institute for Disarmament and Peace, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2001-2004); Attaché, Embassy in Nepal (1998-2001); and Researcher, Institute for Disarmament and Peace, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1984-1998).
Mr. Choe is married and has two sons.
