Permanent Representative of the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) presents credentials

VIENNA, 3 July (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of the International Anti-Corruption Academy (IACA) to the United Nations (Vienna), Thomas Stelzer, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Ghada Waly.

During his career, Mr. Stelzer, has served in various capacities, among them:

Minister Plenipotentiary, Embassy in Lisbon (2018); Ambassador to Portugal (2013-2017); United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for Policy Coordination and Inter-Agency Affairs and Secretary of the United Nations Chief Executives Board (CEB) (2008-2013); Permanent Representative of Austria to the United Nations Office in Vienna, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), and the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO) Preparatory Commission (2001-2008); Special Assistant to the Executive Secretary of CTBTO (1997-2001); and Deputy-Director of the Austrian Cultural Institute, New York (1995-1997).

Mr. Stelzer holds a Doctoral and a Master's degree in Jurisprudence from the University of Vienna. He holds a Master's degree in Latin American Studies from Stanford University and a Diploma in International Relations from the Johns Hopkins University, School for Advanced International Studies, Bologna, Italy.

He speaks English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish.
