Permanent Representative of Georgia presents credentials

VIENNA, 21 July (UN Information Service) - The new Permanent Representative of Georgia to the United Nations (Vienna), Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, presented her credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Ghada Waly.

During her career, Ms. Ketevan Tsikhelashili who is also Ambassador to Austria and Permanent Representative to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), has served in various capacities, among them:

State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality (2016-2020); First Deputy State Minister for Reconciliation and Civic Equality (2012-2016); Chairwoman, Eastern Partnership Civil Society Forum, Georgian National Platform (2012); Founder and Director,  Foundation Liberal Academy-Tbilisi (LAT) (2006-present); Founder and Director, European Initiative of LAT (2010-present); Analyst, European Stability Initiative (ESI) (2007-2009); Project Coordinator for Georgia and the South Caucasus Dialogue,  Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom (2002-2011); Special Assistant to the State Minister and Senior Specialist of International Relations Unit, Office of the State Minister of Georgia on Conflict Resolution Issues (2003-2006); Programme Manager and Senior Analyst, International Organization on Conflict and Negotiation (ICCN), Tbilisi (2001-2003); ;  Political Analyst, Foreign Policy Research and Analysis Centre, Ministry of Foreign Affairs (1998-2001);

Ms. Tsikhelashvili holds a Masters degree in International Relations and European Studies from the Central European University in Budapest, Hungary and a Bachelors degree in International Relations from Tbilisi State University, Georgia.

She speaks Georgian, English and Russian.
