VIENNA, 13 October (UN Information Service) - This is a message from the four main organizations based at the Vienna International Centre (VBOs).
The Vienna International Centre (VIC) Medical Service reported today that three people tested positive for SARS CoV-2. Two people work for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and one person works as a contractor for the UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) outside of the VIC.
At UNIDO, close contacts have been informed. There was no workplace exposure in the case of the IAEA personnel.
The cumulative total number of people who have tested positive among personnel of the main VIC-based organizations is 88, of whom 74 work at the VIC. Of the total, 57 have already recovered.
The four main VBOs are the United Nations Office at Vienna/UN Office on Drugs and Crime, the International Atomic Energy Agency, the UN Industrial Development Organization and the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization.
