 Message from the main Vienna International Centre organizations

VIENNA, 21 October (UN Information Service) - This is a message from the four main organizations based at the Vienna International Centre (VBOs). 

The Vienna International Centre (VIC) Medical Service reported today that one person who works for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) at the VIC tested positive for SARS CoV-2. There was no workplace exposure.

Additionally, a person working for the IAEA outside Austria tested positive. Close contacts have been informed.

The cumulative total number of people who have tested positive among personnel of the main VIC-based organizations is 92, of whom 77 work at the VIC. Of the total of 92 personnel, 83 have already recovered.

The four main VBOs are the United Nations Office at Vienna/UN Office on Drugs and Crime, the International Atomic Energy Agency, the UN Industrial Development Organization and the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization.
