Message from the main Vienna International Centre organizations

VIENNA, 4 November (UN Information Service) - This is a message from the four main organizations based at the Vienna International Centre (VBOs). 

The Vienna International Centre (VIC) Medical Service reported that 12 people who work for VIC-based organizations or at the VIC tested positive for SARS CoV-2. In most cases there was no workplace exposure. Where there were close contacts, they have been informed.

Seven people work for the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV)/United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) at the VIC. Four people work for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) at the VIC. One person works at the VIC but not for one of the main four VIC-based organizations.

The cumulative total number of people who have tested positive among personnel of the VIC-based organizations is 120, of whom 103 work at the VIC. Of the total of 120 personnel, 94 have already recovered.

The four main VBOs are the United Nations Office at Vienna/UN Office on Drugs and Crime, the International Atomic Energy Agency, the UN Industrial Development Organization and the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty Organization.
