VIENNA, 3 September (UN Information Service) – The new Permanent Representative of Kyrgyzstan, Tolendy Makeyev, presented his credentials today to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), Ghada Waly.
During his career, Mr. Makeyev, who is also Ambassador to Austria, has served in various capacities, among them:
Director of the Second Political Department, Foreign Ministry (2019-2021); General Manager of LLC "K. O. Standard Agroservice”, Bishkek (2014-2019); Advisor to German consulting firm VD Consult GmbH (2012-2013); Ambassador to Germany, Denmark, Sweden and the Vatican concurrently with residence in Berlin (2010-2012); National Coordinator of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization with rank of Deputy Minister, Foreign Ministry (2005-2010); Head of the Department of Foreign Policy Planning and Multilateral Economic Cooperation, Foreign Ministry (2004-2005); Minister-Counsellor, Embassy in Germany (2001-2004); Head of the Western Countries Department, Deputy Director, Director of the First Political Department, Foreign Ministry (1998-2001); Head of the Consular Agency, Frankfurt, Germany (1997-1998); and Chargé d'affaires and Counsellor, Embassy in Germany (1995-1997).
Mr. Makeyev studied at the Faculty of Foreign Languages at the Kyrgyz State University.
Mr. Makeyev speaks English, German and Russian.
He is married and has two children.
